Let's Do It EP
A 6 track breaks ep (24m 3s) — released April 25th 2011 on Bombstrikes
After rising very quickly to the top of the pile with his own brand of no nonsense beats and bass party rockers, Pimpsoul delivers a full original Artist EP on the home of all things dancefloor; BOMBSTRIKES! And we think it's a scorcher.
The lead track 'Lets Do It (Right Now)' is a hot collaboration with the ridiculously good MC SHURESHOCK. He's no stranger to the scene having worked alongside the likes of Kid Kenobi, Fatboy Slim, Stanton Warriors and Krafty Kuts, including showing his skills on the popular Ministry of sound "Clubber's Guide to Breaks". That pedigree comes across in the lyrics he delivers which glide perfectly over Pimpsoul's synth hooks rolling beats and speaker worrying bass. Taking things on a slightly more organic tip but with no less energy, BASEMENT FREAKS deliver one hell of a mix. Keeping true to the original they add the live instrumentation touches they are so acclaimed for after their hugely successful Album on Jalepeno records. Also included is a Dub mix from Pimpsoul, for those who prefer things with a little less vocal.
'Get original' sees Pimpsoul join forces with Cornish beat maestros HONGKONGPINGPONG aka Jack Nash and Dave Raybould. Having carved themselves a scene with their Breakspoll nominated club night of the same name they play their part in delivering dancefloor gold here. With vocals coming from Darren kendall (Backbeat Soundsytem) the track is once again kept on an electronic tip with a dancehall mid section that causes mayhem everytime it has been roadtested.
Rounding off the package on the digital release will be the sweet vocal sounds of the supremely talented Claire G on the collaboration 'Twist It'. Showing the funkier side of the Pimpsoul nature the production allows Claire's effortless vocal to drive things along in a more classic strong structure but of course still has that trademark dirty twist.
