Bomb Strikes: Highlights 2023

A 12 track beats & breaks album (44m 44s) — released December 15th 2023 on Bombstrikes

As we bid farewell to another remarkable year and eagerly anticipate the forthcoming 20th-anniversary celebrations of Bomb Strikes, the 'Highlights 2023' release stands as a testament to the enduring quality that defines the label. The assembled track list has not only secured numerous chart-topping positions, global airtime and playlist support across the board but also demonstrates the high level of the label roster featuring some of the scene's biggest stars and brightest talents.

The Niceguys continue to cement their sound with 'Strip It' perfectly showcasing their funk & soul sensibilities. Following suit, we're treated to the funk & hip-hop vibes of both X-Ray Ted and Boca 45, with the latter being skilfully remixed by DJ Moneyshot of The Allergies. Ruckus Robotics marked his long-awaited return to production with a stunning debut on the label in the form of his Odetta cover. Adding to the sonic feast with a focus more on the bass-heavy but no less funky are Tom Booze and Beat Le Juice. There is a second outing from The Niceguys, once again with the amazing Bobby Saint on vocals, but this time in the form of a remix from the legendary A.Skillz. Nat Tate's rework of 'Freed From Desire' featuring the vocals of Yolanda Quartey (AKA Yola), is remixed into a future funk classic by Boca 45. Things then move into infectious Disco and Nu-Disco grooves territory with music from true stars of the sound Kraak & Smaak, in addition to long-time label contributors Shaka Loves You and a welcome return from Bazza Ranks (alongside Turnstyle and Venessa Jackson). Rounding things off is a stunning remix by DJ Vadim of Mr. Doris & D-funk's classic 'All Down'. A truly outstanding selection of music from a label showing no signs of slowing down or lowering its standards.
