Right Back at Ya

A 2 track disco single (9m 38s) — released February 9th 2024 on Bombstrikes

Bombstrikes introduces Suki Soul to its illustrious roster with a dazzling debut release, "Right Back At Ya". A luscious slice of funk-infused disco, Suki's production and vocal prowess evoke the timeless sounds of Melba Moore, D Train, and Patrice Rushen. Collaborating with long-time partner Leroy, Suki has curated a musical masterpiece, enlisting a formidable lineup of musicians, including drum virtuoso Derrick McKenzie (Jamiroquai) and percussion maestro Russ Tarley (Incognito), ensuring that her vision is brought to life with the highest level of musical excellence.

Suki: The idea of the song is the sense of giving back to someone what they give to you. When it came to choosing the sound, I aimed for the 70's and 80's disco-funk & boogie vibe that I love so much. We were also keen to put as many live elements on the track as we could, to help capture the essence of that era whilst also sounding up to date. Something which I feel we delivered on.

Despite being a fresh addition to the Bombstrikes family, Suki Soul has firmly established herself in the music scene, boasting a noteworthy discography on labels like Tinted, Glasgow Underground, and DJ International Records. Whether flying solo or collaborating with renowned artists such as Dr Packer, Birdee, or Yam Who, Suki has garnered a devoted fan base, including industry luminaries like Michael Gray, Sam Divine, Dave Lee, Bob Sinclar and Dimitri From Paris. Her commitment to musical excellence has earned her accolades, placing her in the spotlight of the best of 2023 charts and securing multiple awards, including the prestigious OGV Best Emerging Producer. As we eagerly anticipate Suki Soul's future musical endeavours, her unique blend of talent and vision promises it will be something special.
